From Bremen to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Riga, Latvia: international shipping agencies use LACMA and Young Movers conferences to strengthen networks.

The potential for development in South America and the Caribbean under consideration of the current political situation was the central theme at this year’s LACMA (Latin American and Caribbean International Movers Association) conference held in the Mexican port city of Puerto Vallarta from 23 to 26 April 2017. Along with 13 removals companies from the host country, companies from South America, the Caribbean, the USA and Europe were represented at the convention. “The conference-motto, Sailing towards new possibilities’ gave Rosebrock the opportunity to mainly present our international General Cargo activities”, says General Manager Martin Sommer. Along with the election of Sebastian Laporta as new LACMA president, the convention allowed for the strengthening of longstanding business contacts within LACMA.

The Young Movers Conference took place in Riga two weeks later, from 11 to 13 May 2017, where Imke Kleine (Director Agency Relations) and Alexander Döhler (International removals/export) were on site to represent Rosebrock. Lectures on virtual inspections, new packing materials, insurance, software and Social Media were some of the conference topics, along with the exhibition, get-together and the diversified outdoor programme in the beautiful city of Riga. “Nothing can replace the personal contact to partners, even in an interconnected world. Even where processes are standardized there are always residual questions from our customers. In those cases I always know exactly who to call in order to find a quick solution”, says Imke Kleine.
