A Successful Trend in the Fields of Quality and Environmental Management for Worldwide Transport Solutions

Air and ocean freight, project forwarding, moving services: in 2018 Rosebrock set significant benchmarks concerning the quality and environment for all of their transport solutions.

Air and ocean freight, project forwarding, moving services: in 2018 Rosebrock set significant benchmarks concerning the quality and environment for all of their transport solutions.
The independent certification authority confirmed Rosebrock’s successful transition from ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 to the latest globally recognized standards of ISO 9001:2015 (quality) and ISO 14001:2015 (environment).

Strong process orientation when handling logistical projects, consistent risk management for international transports, and continuous improvements concerning the management of worldwide relocation services are examples of the requirements that are met for the ISO 9001:2015 certification.

At the same time, a certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015 fulfills all requirements for continuous improvements in the area of environmental performance.

In addition to the current ISO 27001:2013 certification, a data protection management system was introduced.
Rosebrock’s diligent application and documentation of valid standards along with professional services and extensive experiences are important components that are valued by national and international customers as well as business partners.

Annual IAM conference & exposition: direct contact to international logistics partners

“Steve, we have a removal contract from Hamburg to Rio de Janeiro for the H….. family. The ship arrives 2 December. Can you take care of the further transport of the sea container from the port to the customer including unloading?”

“Steve, we have a removal contract from Hamburg to Rio de Janeiro for the H….. family. The ship arrives 2 December. Can you take care of the further transport of the sea container from the port to the customer including unloading?”

These types of requests are part of the daily routine of Rosebrock’s International Department.

And they’re not just communicating with any random logistics company. The secure and punctual handling of the transport can only be guaranteed through the close personal contacts established over the years.

This is not our first contact with Steve - we have already held preliminary discussions regarding the requirements of a seamless import/export-cooperation from Hamburg to Rio, and vice versa. In addition to both of our companies being ISO certified, the majority of our logistics partners, just like Steve’s moving company, also hold FIDI – FAIM (Federation of International Furniture Removers) certificates. So when it comes to quality assurance of international removal services, we speak the same language.

Every year the Rosebrock specialists coordinate with Steve and his colleagues during the annual International Association of Movers (IAM) conference. During this year’s convention, held in Maryland, USA from 6 to 9 October, 1700 forwarding companies from 160 countries took part. During numerous meetings and interviews, Rosebrock’s delegation actively used the opportunity to further develop its palette of reliable and widely certified partners for international removals.

So when Mr. H’s two-year deployment to Rio is over and he and his family return to Germany, we will again coordinate their removal. Steve will visit their apartment, calculate the volume and order the sea container accordingly. In coordination with Rosebrock, he will organize packing material and the transport to port. We in turn will look after customs clearance, economical sea freight as well as offloading and further transport, so that the family can move back into their Hamburg home free of the stress of removals.

Summer 2018: insights into Rosebrock’s worldwide moving services

How do heirlooms like antiques or paintings get from Canada to the relatives in Germany by ocean freight? And what needs to be considered when moving a 1.5-ton stone statue from Southeast Asia to a major city in Southern Germany?

The inquiry in question concerning the removal of antiques and paintings as part of an inheritance came from a local mover, who required a comprehensive transport solution. Thanks to Rosebrock’s international network, an on-site visit in Canada was arranged, during which the shipping volume was estimated, packing discussed (including purpose-built shipping crates) and the insurance value determined. Following that, transport was carried out per ocean freight including the handling of all customs formalities and final delivery to the destination address in Hamburg. To ensure that everything ran smoothly, numerous intricate problems needed solving that were beyond a standard removal. How to get the valuable items in their specially made overseas crates from the 16th floor penthouse into a standard shipping container? Which customs documents are required when shipping heirlooms to the deceased’s relatives?

In another case, a 1.5-ton statue of Buddha needed to travel from Southeast Asia to its new home in Southern Germany as part of a removal.  The initial pick-up and loading at the house alone required precise preliminary arrangements with the local partners. Along with the actual shipping, customs formalities as well as details about contingent duties, taxes, storage and port fees and transshipment costs needed clarification, before the further transport from Bremerhaven to the destination could be organized.
Each and every transport order has its peculiarities and comes with its own individual history. However, this is what makes international removal logistics so interesting and inspiring. „Transports like these work particularly well, when, along with the existence of a global network of specialists, all team members commit themselves personally to a smooth operation“, says Imke Kleine, Director of Agency Relations at Rosebrock.

This year’s International Mobility Alliance (IMA) took place from 28 February to 3 March in Bangkok. More than 150 participants attended the sessions on current subjects like freight rate optimization, applicable legislation or regulations. Being able to arrange half hour meetings with other attendees in advance allowed for a focused exchange of information and ideas with representatives of many international freight forwarders. A delegation from our partner company ETSA (Expess-Transport-Shipping-Agency GmbH) represented the ROSEBROCK group at the conference, where they were able to tie new global partnerships and to strengthen existing ones. Every international removal requires an individual solution. The type of network set up during conferences like the IMA allows ROSEBROCK to establish versatile and reliable worldwide alliances, enabling us to provide a comprehensive single-provider removal service as required. This spares you, the customer, the time-consuming and complex search for individual logistics service providers.

„We stand for quality removals“ - confern member Rosebrock is part of the German removals cooperation’s quality campaign

A well-established removals cooperation is more than just a comparison portal, since the specialized member companies need to adhere to strict quality standards. That provides the customer with assurance as to what to expect from their removals specialist.

A well-established removals cooperation is more than just a comparison portal, since the specialized member companies need to adhere to strict quality standards. That provides the customer with assurance as to what to expect from their removals specialist.

That is not immediately evident on internet sites or fliers dropped in mailboxes. “Unfortunately, most bait advertising leaves the customer in the dark concerning possible risks. There is little or insufficient consultation, making initially cheap removals substantially more expensive, at the latest, when unforeseen circumstances or damages occur. Our campaign is designed to close these and other information gaps”, say the Managing Directors of the removals cooperation.

With the „We stand for quality removals“-campaign, the initiators want to set a clear signal for the actively operating businesses. As licensed removals companies, the confern-members as well as five further removal cooperatives pledge themselves to the following six benchmarks:

1. local specialists: We are next door.
The cooperating removals companies are, without exception, established specialist companies, rooted in the local economy for decades. We are there to talk to – right next door.

2. certified: We are independently verified.
All of the cooperating removals companies work pursuant to internationally recognized norms and standards and are certified accordingly.

3. qualified: We only employ specialists,
because a successful removal needs more than just strong hands to carry boxes. The training of our furniture-, kitchen- and removal service specialists takes three years and, along with lifting- and packing techniques, also includes e.g. the connection of electrical appliances and plumbing. Skills that make a difference. For your removal, that means:

• Professional planning

• High quality equipment (removals material, fleet, apparatuses)

• Special know-how (furniture system assembly, etc.)

• Safety on the road: Removals companies, as opposed to freight forwarders and brokers, need to provide a freight traffic licence.

4. flexible: We are a Germany-wide network.
Joint venture companies are particularly flexible when it comes to strong seasonal workloads or during large-scale projectsCentralized dispatch and up-to-date information about all removals allow quick responses to customer requests. In addition, resources can be jointly planned and coordinated, optimizing capacity utilization and flexibility.

5. fair: We take responsibility.
The cooperating removals companies work according to a uniform code of conduct. For your removal, that means:

• Transparent offers based on sound data (on-site visits)

• Reliable calculation, no bait advertising with hidden costs

• Fair prices & wages under compliance of all statutory provisions

• Professional settlement in case of claims (AMÖ arbitration board)

6. competent: We provide hands-on quality.
Decades of experience from thousands of removals, trained personnel and a high degree of specialization make up the base of our core competency: developing tailor-made removals concepts.

For the Rosebrock team, the implementation of these standards is our daily aim and claim - true to our motto „Quality and Service - Made in Germany since 1897“.
